Raines is one of the first inmates to see Clemons bring Ripley into the facility. He is also the other inmate (along with Boggs) sent out with Golic into the tunnels. He, like Boggs, expresses his disdain for Golic, but is reprimanded for his attitude. He is the first of the three killed by the alien when investigating the candles that are being blown out.
